Concert in aid of the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Trust, National Piping Centre

The Concert was a great success with lots of money being raised through sale of tickets and an out-standing raffle. It would not have been possible without the performers donating their time and effort free of charge. The piping talent on show was fantastic including a session on Border pipes from Simon McKerrell and Finlay MacDonald that had the audience enthralled. TNT’s performance closed the first half and the evening carried on in style. The band were delighted to be part of this charity event and help raise funds for such a good cause.

Hogmanay Gala, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

TNT greatly enjoyed performing with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in the recent annual Hogmanay Concert in Glasgow. The night was a great success and tracks like "Flower of Scotland" and "Amazing Grace" went down extremely well with an appreciative audience. Michael Tumelty from the Herald had this to say about TNT's performance:

"the great musical strength of the show came from The New Tradition, a trio of young RSAMD pipers who demonstrated incontrovertibly that the pipes can play in time, in tune and in sympathy with a symphony orchestra(to say nothing of the massed chorus of a capacity audience) and can secure real emotional depth from music, as they did in a heartrending account of Phil Cunningham's Cathcart, which transcended all musical boundaries and divisions." Michael Tumelty, The Herald.

STV film TNT for Piping Program

The band were recently filmed by STV for a short documentary about piping to be aired early in the new year. They performed a couple of sets and gave interviews on their individual piping backgrounds and their views on piping today. The show will give an insight into the band's background and modern piping. The program will be broadcast in February 2008.

Scottish Sports Personality of the Year 2007

This was another great oppertunity for the band to perform to a live audience. The peformance was warmly recieved and gave a particularly Scottish feel to the Awards Ceremony. Some pictures used around the website were taken that night.
